Jared Tobin is a Dubai-based cryptography engineer and research scientist with over fifteen years of experience developing open-source and commercial software. He has held senior and principal-level engineering and management roles at e.g. Fugue (acquired by Snyk, 2022), Tlon Corporation, and Lightning Labs.

He holds a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Auckland, where his research focused on embedded probabilistic programming languages. In his spare time he lifts weights and plays chess.
